Review 8/31/2010
THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM! I learned quite a lesson and regret not doing the proper homework but hopefully my review helps at least one person to not get scammed.

Long story short, I contracted with them for a cross country move and they took a deposit from me. I scheduled my move out date on the day the pick up was supposed to be, meaning I had to be out of my apartment that day. They called less than 24 hours out saying they would be a day late and it was the best they could do. Calling my salesperson, Ed Warner, he said it was unacceptable and would call me back. He never called me or emailed me back after several attempts and messages by me. When I finally got a hold of someone, they said they'd call me after talking to their manager who "they had no idea where he was" and never called me back. What kind of customer service is this? In my life, this is by far the worst. However, it gets even worse.

I contacted another moving company - Best Price Moving - who I didn't go with originally this time (although have used previously) because they were a bit higher in the quote. My salesperson there, Nick Lorenza, was fantastic and kind enough to send me the following information. Trust me, I regret this and will for sure go back to Best Price for the extra hundred dollars....that's besides the point.

All searches for interstate movers should begin at the U.S. Government's official website for interstate movers, http://www.protectyourmove.gov

The actual search for a company is conducted using the company's licensing information. By law this information must be posted on any e-mails a company may send a consumer and also must be visible on their company website.

Here is what we found out about American Relocation.
It shows that there are no known carriers by their license number. This means that this DOT# 1972889 is either fictitious altogether or just isn't for a company who is licensed to perform household goods moves in the United States. However their website clearly suggests that they are a licensed household goods mover.
This is considered fraud.

Their motor carrier number is fake. MC# 698027 is either fictitious or isn't for a company who is licensed to perform household goods moves in the United States. Again, their website clearly suggests that they are a licensed household goods mover, which they are not. Again, fraud.

Finally, upon searching their license history at http://li-public.fmcsa... we can find out that this company is licensed to haul "Motor Property" as opposed to "Household Goods" meaning that it wouldn't be legal for them to move household goods. Also we see they have only been licensed since January 29th of this 2010 and that they have had their license revoked 2 times already!

Regardless of the quote and service that you're promised, DO NOT USE this company! They also go by North American Transfer so be aware of that company too.

My bank is currently trying to get back my money but trust me - don't be scammed by this fradulent company.
