This is a long review, but I feel WDC deserves it. Ordered a cooktop (odd size) from WDC. Darryl Nemer answered my original call as well as secondary calls I made to WDC. In placing my order, Darryl addressed my concerns about the cooktop I wanted having been discontinued. He confirmed that it had been discontinued then double checked inventory to make sure they did not have any more of them in stock (which they didn't). He then confirmed that the maker had recently come out with an updated replacement model. After checking on this model, he notified me that it was not in stock but would be in their warehouse in 7 days and could be shipped immediately afterwards. Since this item was not even showing yet on their website, I asked the price. He gave me the same price as was showing for the discontinued model, and that price is what I was actually charged ... no shipping fees. Darryl was very patient as I re-confirmed with him the model number, size, color, and shipping date. I placed the order over the phone, and Darryl e-mailed me a copy of the invoice within hours. In 9 days, I got a phone call that the cooktop was being shipped that day (Friday). My only complaint is that I did not get an e-mail confirmation and tracking number of shipment. However, when I called on Tuesday (again spoke directly with Darryl) he said he would check it out and call me back. He called back within 30 minutes with the tracking # and shipping method. FedEx delivered the cooktop the next day. That was 2 weeks from date of order to delivery; one week from expected arrival in their warehouse to my home (Texas). The cooktop was in its original box; that box was cushioned and packed inside another box. We have installed it, and it looks great! All this after a marathon of dealing with other sources to get this cooktop. First was Sears..... 2 weeks after ordering, I got a phone call that the model had been discontinued. They sent me info on other cooktops, but they were 2" smaller! Ordered #2 from a dealer on Amazon.... 8 days later they sent a cooktop that was 2" smaller than ordered (even the box label had a different model number on it)! They said sorry, they didn't have the correct size in stock. Gave up on Amazon at this point. Called a dealer on the East Coast ... person that answered the phone said oh yes they have several of that model in stock. When I explained the problems I had been having and asked him if he could actually put his eyes on the product, he said that he was at the warehouse and if their computer said they had it then they had it! Well, you know how unfailing computers are when it comes to inventory...NOT! He didn't want to take the time to double-check. Told him goodbye. Supposedly, 3rd time's the charm. This time it was; and WDC was #3. After explaining the problems to Darryl, he was more than willing to take the time to make sure my request was handled honorably. I'm glad I ordered from him before I read the other reviews posted here. Based on my experience, I would order from WDC again, especially if my order was handled by Darryl Nemer (ext. 223).
