Review 1/12/2011

We have contracted with the Amiable Construction Co. on two separate occasions for house structural repair, and we are very impressed with the thoroughness and quality of work. Each job was approached as more than merely “fixing” something. As a means of assuring enhanced integrity of the result, on each occasion when repairs were being made, the company owner, Rene Amy, would recommend a restoration technique that was superior to conventional methodology. This knowledge such as how the tarpaper should be tucked to prevent leakage, the type of fasteners that would be most effective, and what type of sealant is most durable and effective come with years of experience. Completion of the work was always timely and for reasonable cost. We highly recommend this company, especially to anyone who has need for repairs to aging structures.

Business's response - by Rene A.on 1/13/2011

Thanks, Phil! It's always great to hear from satisfied clients. As you point out, there were two separate projects involved - replacing water- and insect-damaged beams on a deck projecting out over a canyon and sealing leaking windows. Challenges with the deck included scaffolding over the canyon edge and properly sealing new beams from water and insects once installed in the old decking. The window-sealing project involved determining why water was infiltrating what appeared to be a sealed wall, and then determining the best method and materials to fix a 30-year-old problem. It's the challenges - and of course, the great customers - that make it fun to be in the business. Thanks again. Rene Amy, owner, Amiable Construction
