PLEASE READ: This company is a fraudulent company that makes illegal, unauthorized charges to your credit card. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER; DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM.
This company is regularly scamming people by giving them low estimates and then when the driver shows up (which he does a day early, and at a very late hour) he tells you he needs to charge two to three times the amount given in the estimate because you have more stuff then they estimated for. If you sign their contract and let them take you possessions they will hold them hostage till you pay their demands. Some people have complained that they have held their possessions hostage for months.
Here's a short synopsis of what happen to me. I hired them to move my nephew (who lived with my daughter) from Debary, FL to my home in Norman, OK. The driver showed up a day early and at 9:30 pm. The driver tried to get my nephew to sign a contract. When he tried to read it the driver told him just to sign it. He refused and read it and became suspicious over the extra charges due to his one bedroom of stuff being more then estimated. He questioned the driver. The driver told my nephew he was going to charge him 2 -3 times more the estimate. My nephew called me and had me talk to the driver. I demanded to talk to his manager. He directed me to call his manager, whom I later found out is the owner; Sheila Baruk. I talked with her. After getting caught up in several lies she finally admitted that her company normally gives low ball estimates and demands more when they pick up the item. This is how they get business. I told her this was unethical, and I would only pay them what they estimated the move to be. After trying to change my mind she then told me that she would have to call me back after talking with someone else. Meanwhile, why I waited for her call, the driver tried everything from intimidation, to threats, to negotiating a new contract. I told him no, and waited for the owner/manager’s call. Then the driver drove off without a word. I called the owner/manager immediately to let her know. She already knew, she told him to. Angrily, I inquired why she never called me back; she said she didn't feel like it. I told her because she never called me back, and the driver drove off they rescinded the contract. I demanded my deposit back. She reluctantly agreed and said she would refund it to me the next day. Once again she lied. I tried calling several times and got the comments like, "never heard of the person", "she comes in later in the day", to being hung up on. I reported all of this to the BBB, the DOT, and the FL Attorney General. The DOT informed me that a moving company can only charge 115% more then the estimate. This company was trying to charge 200-300% more. Then 3 days ago, I got my credit card statement and found that this company had made a charge on it. Initially, they had asked for my credit card number when I agreed to do business with them. After giving them my number, they then wanted a photocopy of the front and back of my driver’s license and credit card. This didn't seem safe to me considering identity theft (boy, am I glad I didn't give it to them). After my reluctance they suggested I pay by direct deposit. This seemed like a saver choice so I sent them 20% deposit. Then after they broke the contract, they made a charge on my credit card for more money. I have alerted my credit card company of their fraudulent activity and canceled my card. This fraudulent company needs to be shut down.
