This company should be SHUT DOWN! They are the most unethical people I have ever seen. This is how they got me. When I booked my move, the representative, Brooke, acted as though she was very concerned with meeting my moving needs. I told her the items that I had and she gave me a binding rate of $1,955.00. She told me that this rate would NOT INCREASE. She also told me that if I had stairs inside of my apartment, I would not be charged an additional fee. She said that they only charge a fee if you live in a building and the truck cannot pull up directly to your door. I told her that the truck could pull up directly to my door. I asked her several times to go over the price, and she did and stated that the price would not go up and that I would not be charged these additional fees. She stated that once my things were delivered, the movers would reassemble all of my furniture. All of these promises were untrue. Once the movers got to the location to pick up my furniture, they changed the price to $3500and said that I had a lot more items than they thought. After talking with the manager, they then dropped the price to $2500, which included an elevator fee of $75 that Brooke stated that I would not have to pay. She even called the storage unit where my items were and added that I would not be charged this fee in the contract. Once the movers arrived to my home, the mover charged me another $75 for stairs inside my home, that I was told I would not be charged for. He then asked to keep my change as a tip, and of course I said NO. I contacted the manager (after calling several times with no answer) and she was very rude to me and stated that I could not get my money back for the stairs and that if I lived in a HOUSE I would not have incurred the fee but since I lived in an apartment, I had to pay the fee because the stairs are different. I have never heard of such. A stair is a stair! They moved my items very hurriedly and did not pay any attention to the FRAGILE boxes. Several of my dishes were broken. The bottom of my armoire was torn off. My sofas and bed were soaking wet and took several days to dry. The drivers then told me that they were not going to assemble my beds and dining room table because they did not take it apart. I told them that I could tell them how to put the bed together. They said that if I could tell them how to do it, I could do it myself. I have never been treated so rudely. On the phone, Brooke knew that all of my items were in storage. She stated that they would put it back together, and they DID NOT! I also received a box of items and shoes that were not even mine, which makes me think…If I have someone’s items, someone may have some things of mine. But, I do not know, because of the unprofessionalism of this company and its drivers. At the end of the move, the driver did not give me a copy of the Bill of Laden. They did not even say goodbye. I heard the truck crank up and they were gone. I still do not even know if all of my items were even taken off the truck. When I tried to call the driver, he hung up on me and did not answer when I called again.
