I made contact with Western Mutual Insurance Company in May, 2008, having found a very favorable rating of them on the website of the California Insurance Commissioner. I went to the Commissioner's website to find an insurance company after eliminating other insurance companies for one reason or another. I was hugely pleased with Western Mutual's service. When I placed my call to them from another state, I was immediately connected with an agent who was knowledgeable, polite and very accommodating. He was able to give me a quote immediately. The quote was much less than I had received from one other company (a large, national company). When I decided to purchase a Western Mutual policy, the follow-through from them was timely and thorough. They worked closely with the escrow company to ensure that the escrow company had all the information that they needed.
